The New York Youth Law Academy (NYYLA) is a free, week-long academic program for high school students entering grades 9 through 12.

NYYLA is structured as a legal pipeline initiative designed to introduce students to foundational concepts in law, civic institutions, and legal careers. It is specifically intended to serve young people who are underrepresented in today’s legal profession. Through classroom instruction, interactive workshops, and direct engagement with legal professionals, participants gain early exposure to the field and practical insight into potential career paths.

Applications are currently open for our Buffalo and Rochester programs:

Students, families, educators, and community partners are encouraged to share this opportunity widely.
